Synth Rules

The TermsPrivacy Policy, and Synth Rules collectively make up the End User License Agreement (EULA or  “Agreement”) that governs a user’s access to and use of Synth’s services. For EU users, it also incorporates the Data Processing Addendum (DPA).

All individuals accessing or using Synth’s services must adhere to the policies set forth in the Synth Rules. These rules are enforced via internal review of content, timely (eg. within 24 hours) responses to user identified content through “Report as inappropriate”, “Block” user actions taken as well as support inquiries.  Failure to follow policies may result in Synth taking one or more of the following enforcement actions: require the deletion of prohibited content before you can resume use of the Services, and temporarily or permanently suspending your account(s). If you attempt to evade a suspension by creating new accounts, we will suspend your new accounts.

Please note that we may need to change these Rules from time to time and reserve the right to do so.

Graphic violence and adult content
All graphic violence and adult content is prohibited. We consider graphic violence to be any form of gory media related to death, serious injury, violence, or surgical procedures. Examples would include the moment at which someone dies, a gruesome crime or accident scenes and bodily harm, torture, dismemberment, or mutilation.

Adult content is prohibited. We consider adult content to be any media that is pornographic and/or may be intended to cause sexual arousal. Examples would include full or partial nudity, simulating a sexual act and intercourse or any sexual act (may involve humans, humanoid animals, cartoons, or anime).

Please note that exceptions may be made for artistic, medical, health, or educational content. Breastfeeding content is not considered adult content.

Abusive Behavior

You may not make defamatory, discriminatory, or mean-spirited content, including references or commentary about religion, race, sexual orientation, gender, national/ethnic origin, or other targeted groups. Professional political satirists and humorists are generally exempt from this requirement.

You may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. We consider abusive behavior an attempt to harass, intimidate, or silence someone else’s voice.

You may not direct abuse at someone by sending unwanted sexual content, objectifying them in a sexually explicit manner, or otherwise engaging in sexual misconduct.

You may not use hateful images or symbols in your profile image or profile header. You also may not use your username, display name, or profile bio to engage in abusive behavior, such as targeted harassment or expressing hate towards a person, group, or protected category.

Violence and physical harm

You may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people. This includes, but is not limited to, threatening or promoting terrorism. You also may not affiliate with organizations that — whether by their own statements or activity both on and off the platform — use or promote violence against civilians to further their causes.

You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.

You may not promote or encourage suicide or self-harm. When we receive reports that a person is threatening suicide or self-harm, we may take a number of steps to assist them, such as reaching out to that person and providing resources such as contact information for our mental health partners.

You may not show depictions that encourage illegal or reckless use of weapons and dangerous objects, or facilitate the purchase of firearms.

Private information

You may not publish or post other people’s private information without their express authorization and permission. Definitions of private information may vary depending on local laws. You may also not threaten to expose, hack or break into someone’s private information.
